Weekend at Six Flags

This weekend I went with St Johns to Six Flags with my girlfriend, what an adventure. First off it was cold out, I dress appropriately for the weather and my girlfriend does not. So basically that means I lose a layer of warmth. So I was kind of cold. The entire trip was poorly organized, nobody knew anything of it and the students a part of Student Life running it were not even at the meeting spot at hte time they told everyone to show up. In fact the only person there was the bus driver and he was an asshole to us when we asked if he knew anything.

When we get there we put some of our stuff in the locker and continued into the park. We went to get the Flash Pass which cut out the hassle of waiting on line. That cost us $50 but it paid off since I fought her on every ride to get on and after each one she apologized and said she liked it. Now if we didnt have the pass it would involve 1/2 hour waits on line giving her far too many opportunities to attempt to get away.

Every ride was great except Batman the Ride and El Toro. To be honest, Batman the Ride beat the shit out of us and remembering it in the past it never did that, I believe they redid the ride but not for the better. El Toro crushed me and broke 3 of my girlfriend's nails. SHe didnt mind the ride but it still hurt a bit. It crushed me when I put my arms up and the hills came and the force behind me pushed me foward allowing me to kiss my knees and the bar crushed my stomach.

Now the food, everyone knows is a rip off but unfortunately we ate it. Not worth it at all but it kept us going a bit. When we got back on the bus I went right to sleep. Woke up to find my car battery dead. That was fun since I had to call my dad for help and well my parents were not too fond of my girlfriend since the end of last summer due to a whole bunch of events. Although now he cares much less and even said hi to her and asked her if she had a good time. As usual my girlfriend assumed he just wanted to get a look at her and I get pissed because that paranoi is what led to much of my family disliking her. But I digress.

Well I stayed up a few extra hours when I got home to play Grand Theft Auto IV and then slept like a baby until 4 on Sunday.

And The Work Piles Up

So as of now I have an English Report around 8 pages long, a History Project 4-6 pages Long, a 10 page Philosophy Project and a 1 page single spaced Psychology paper all due next week. What have I started? Nothing, as usual. I cant handle all this work. By the time I finish one thing two more things are assigned. Everything is over done. Particulary English. History I can handle but just dont like. Philosphy is ok but I dont agree with 10 pages. English, we have done 2 long assignments already which is usually what professors do. One in the middle and one at the end. No instead we get 3, it is far too much.

I am getting unbelivably stressed and angered at all of it. Not to mention we need a break, no weekend is long enough and yeah tomorrow 1 day off. Not nearly enough. And our Spring Break is in February, cause that makes sense, thats when we need it, when nothing is going on.

I hate college.

To Pennsylvania Pt 4

So after the lake we relaxed. The next day we get up and normally would have breakfast and leave but since we had no reason to rush home we decided to leave late. We were relaxing when my dad comes in and says he needs our help with something. I roll my eyes and say "This should be good". We go into the garage and he tells us he wants to move these two wooden blocks down to the basement. Problem was they weighed like 300lbs each. So he needed all three of us for it. Problem was finding a way to lift the blocks and bring all the way around the house to the basement doors.

I tell him we should just use the trailer we brought stuff up with that was attachted to the car. So after lifting it on to there we brought it around the house and backed the car up to the basement door and brought it into the basement. We did it like twice so that took about 30 minutes. Problem was the dog wandered off again during all this and I saw a brown dot run by in the woods so I ran to go get her. After being exhausted and getting her back in the house and yelling at her we went back to relaxing.

Then my dad comes in and says he needs our help for just five minutes, he tells us he wants to move the blocks to the otherside of the basement and I rolled my eyes and said "My ass five minutes" so the last day we fun and exhausting and my body is aching a bit after all this. I am sure the tennis added to that.

Now back in Staten Island and the work has piled up since although I intended to do some homework up there, amazingly enough I did not.

To Pennsylvania Pt 3

When we got to the lake we started backing the boat into the water and then set off. My dad was driving first, then he asked if I wanted to, I had a devious smile and said yes. My friend was scared since he knows how I am.

Once I had the wheel my dad asked to let him off. Then he started to scream that I was coming in too fast at the docks. So that was an argument there something like this....
-Dad: Your coming in too god damn fast!
-Me: No I am not, I know how to drive the fucking boat!
-Dad: Give me the god damn wheel!
-Me: Fine!
::Now we are going in at like 1mph and rocking back and forth::
-Me: See now we are going as slow as shit!
-Dad: This is why I dont want you to drive, I cant trust you out there alone!
-Me: No, you just realized you were wrong and that this is too fucking slow and dont want to admit it.
-Dad: Fine you want me to go?
-Me: Yeah
After some joy riding my dad waves us in. I go full speed to the docks and then cut the gas and turn and now rocking parallel to the dock right infront of him.
-Dad: Hey that was pretty cool.
-Me: Yeah no shit, Amazingly enough I drive pretty well, better then you in fact. All those video games payed off as you can see.
Through all this my friend was laughing.

To Pennsylvania Pt 2

The next day after we get up and have breakfast we go down to the main building in the community and play Tennis since my friend is trying to get me into it. I dont see it happening any time soon. To be honest I suck at it, and my friend isnt that great but much better than myself. I have a tendancy to get angry and that is not good in Tennis since you end up sending the ball flying out of the court and over the fence which I did several times, as did my friend.

Then my dad showed up and I left to get drinks and my friend played by dad and my dad kicked his ass and had him exhausted by the end. My dad hasnt played in ten years but he use to play with his brother since his brother loves tennis.

By the way during all this we were swatting bugs that were flying all around us, although I didnt get bit but my friend did, so I was a bit lucky. Later we went to the lake to go on my boat.

To Pennsylvania Pt 1

So this past weekend me and my friend went to Pennsylvania to get away from the stresses of school. We left Staten Island at around 5 in the afternoon and got up there at around 8 at night. We hit traffic but glad I wasnt driving, my dad drove us up since he considers it a get away as well. Not to mention we usually bring my dog since she loves it up there.

When we first get up there, as we are unpacking my dog wanders off in the woods and the sun is about to go down. In Pennsylvania since there are no lights anywhere it is pitch black once the sun goes down. So me and my friend were going to go look for her once we finished unpacking. When we finished unpacking we decided to get changed so that we can go into the woods and not worry too much about bugs and the cold since we were wearing shorts.

Just as we finished getting changed she wanders back into the garage where we were unpacking, so of course we all yelled at her.

Once that was all delt with we ate and relaxed the rest of the night.

Museum of Natural History

Saturday me and my girlfriend went to the Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium Space Theatre. The Museum was ok, a little boring in my opinion, glad its free, but the video "Collisions" that we saw in the planetarium was worth the trip.

The museum was the same old thing, statues of animals, 150 million year old bones, African civilizations and a bunch of Indians. Nothing of which grabs my attention much. The only thing that did was the small corner dedicated to the Egyptians, a very small corner.

Finally the time came for us to head to the theatre in the planetarium and watch the show. It was worth the neck pains to watch. The video was narrated by Robert Redford and the first segment was on the formation of the moon which I already knew from my astronomy class back in high school.

It is said that another planet collided with Earth back when it was first created. This collision caused chunks of the planet to be thrown int o space and being caught in Earth's gravitational pull and over the course of a month all those chunks were brought together and rounded out into our moon. It then talked of the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Finally it talked of how our galaxy is going to collide with our nearest neighboring galaxy the Andromeda galaxy forming one giant galaxy.

All of it was very interesting and unfortunately was only about 1/2 hour long.
